Me and my cousins sing really well. How can we get a record deal, so I can become famous?

I love to sing. I was thinking of starting a girls band with me and my cousins. We all sing fairly well. We wanted to form a girls band so we can be famous and known. How can we get a record deal or an agent?

Alrighty, this all depends on what kind of music you do. I know Victory does pretty much any kind of new stuff, Tooth and Nail does pretty much the same, Solid State does just Christian stuff, so find a record company that handles a lot of the same kind of music you play. Once you find that, put together a press-kit. Be sure to include things like:
A demo CD
A good, large picture of the band together
A list of gigs you’ve played
A short bio describing yourself, what kind of scene you fit into, how big your following is and stuff like that.
A way to contact someone in the band, Name, Phone, Address, E-mail, etc.
…there’s a bunch of articles on a press kit if you go google it, but that’s the majority of it.
Anyways, you take that and try to find the A&R person at the record company and send it to them. So basically just put all of it in a box, call the A&R guy and make sure its cool to send it to him, then mail it and hope for the best. It may be best to call about a week after you think he’s gotten it to see if they’ve listened to it yet and if they have’nt dont take it personally. If it’s a small record company, it shouldnt take too long, but if you try to send it to someone like Virgin, Arista, or even Victory, they get tons of press kits every day, so it’ll take a while for the A&R person to listen to it if they aren’t a jackass and just trash it.
